Fall Out Boy - 20 Dollar Nose Bleed (off Folie à Deux, 2008, Decaydance)
I had a real inkling for this record today - really fun, really creative and it’s aged surprisingly well now that Pete Wentz’s antics haven’t been in the spotlight as much. ”20 Dollar Nose Bleed” is an eccentric ragtime song about drugs and/or the Iraq War - like most of the album surrounding it - which dovetails into an insanely paranoid interlude with Wentz depressively mumbling things like “send me back to the glue factory”. This is a weird album. I’m sure I said more about it in my ancient Punknews.org review, which is the only thing I ever submitted to that website. Check it out here if your heart so desires.
ALSO, I have a habit of renaming all the Fall Out Boy songs I have on my iPod. This song is called “CLAY DAVIS UP IN THE BEEITCH”. Other favourite retitlings include “Yanceman. Pac-Peop.”, “Owl Fight!” and my all-time favourite “Inappropriate Boner in Court - The Murder Trial”. Feel free to speculate which songs these titles belong to.
